Is there an Mplayer Package for debian? I tried to build from source and failed. I am using GamesKnoppix 3.7-1

do a deb or google search or point kpakage at it
ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main
or run the script from here Kano's Scripts
You may want the w32codecs as well

does anybody know a place for mplayer under a different architecture than i386?
my machine is an iMac running powerpc unstable.

on a similar note does someone know where I can get mplayer-mozilla 2.8. All I can get is 2.7 and that is without playback control

from the site www4.mplayerhq.hu: "If your processor is not x86 [...] You won't get Windows Media 9 and all the obscure formats supported only via Win32 DLLs."

The sad part of it is that some internet radios only transmit in Windows Media format.
among them: all Dutch public stations except the world service.

For everyone who wants to install MPlayer from a Debian package, you can easily create a MPlayer Debian package yourself. I've already posted this a couple of times. Here is a thread in which I explain how to create a Debian package from the MPlayer source: Howto_MPlayer_Debian
