How do you delete a file??

Hey guys, I followed instructions from a site and it told me to do this:

Edit /root/.bash_profile
Add /usr/local/ssl/bin to the PATH variable.
Re-login

Uhh.. there WAS no .bash_profile so I created one... and typed in
PATH=/usr/local/ssl/bin

now after I relogged in, I can't run ANY commands (excpet for kernel commands such as cd). I can't even run apt-get. It says command not found

Why? Becuase it thinks that when i type in "apt-get" whatever, it thinks that I meant to say : /usr/local/ssl/bin/apt-get

CRAP. Can someone help me out here? I just need to be able to edit that file .. or deleting that file will work too (since it is (or should be) a kernel command)..

By the way, You should of used PATH=$PATH:PATH=/usr/local/ssl/bin

This adds a new path to the path variable instead of replacing it.

I forgot to mention that you should add the line 'export PATH'
