Question Gnome Shell Search gives only 5 results at a time

Hello everyone!

I have installed Debian Testing with Gnome 3.14.
I have not installed any extra or third party shell extension.
I am not new to Debian but I am completely new to Gnome 3.

My question is this: every time I use the Gnome Shell search
I receive only five (5) results, that is, only five big icons
at the top of the screen, below the search bar.

For example, I have 11 entries with the string "Chess" inside
their names on my Gnome desktop, big icons and everything,
but when I search "chess" in the search bar,
I get only 5 of them.

Is it a bug or is it the default setting?
Can I do something to change it, maybe from the Tweak-Tool
or the dconf editor, or by tweaking a file?

I have no experience in Gnome 3, but I have seen pictures
on the Internet from Gnome 3 desktops, with a lot more results
under a search.

Thank you

Anytime you have a package called something like tweak tools you know it was an after thought.

I haven't used GS since it was put out for testing in 2010. Are you sure the screen shots were from a search or were they from people just getting the entire list of applications?

I think your best bet is to have your file browser open all the time to /usr/share/applications and use that for a menu.

Or use a different DE.
