libglib is emphatically not glibc. The C standard library (i.e. glibc) pacakages are named "libc"; do an `apt-cache search libc | grep ^libc | sort | head'. Those are probably the packages you want to muck with (substitute less for head and have a brief look at all the packages too).
I recall having realloc issues a while back, but everything seems to work just fine (or, I should clarify, as fine) as I suspected.
So, try up- or downgrading the libc packages.
