FTP is having some fits.

FTP works via local area network.

Doesn't outside of the network.

I have opened up the FTP port on my router's firewall.

It should be noted that Web comes through the router as does SSH.

Opened as in FOWARD chain or as in INPUT?

what kind of server? ftpd, bsd-ftpd, vsftpd?

Be more clear in your statmens: is the router the one that has the ftp server or is that another machine?
