Flash Issues on firefox 3.01


Hi All,

Just installed firefox 3.01 and tried toget flasf running. I installed via aptitude:

-flashplayer-mozilla

-flashplugin-nonfree

Which installed fine, but still no firefox flash. Here is my /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory which shows libflashplayer.so installed:

BTW- flash runs fine in Epiphany

Have you tried using the official flash installer from Adobe? Its worked for me in the past.

Also, what distro are you running?

Have you tried the almighty reboot? (Although yes I know that SHOULDNT be necessary, but you'd be surprised sometimes...)

Ok, just fixed it:

I originally downloaded firefox .tar from mozilla site, not debian repositories (is it there despite Iceweasel?). I had previously installed flash via repos, so of course they weren't in the later installed mozilla directories. So I uninstalled and reinstalled flash and now it works fine.

I tried to manually install flash using the file downloaded from their site, but when it asked for the path to the install directory (used /usr/lib/mozilla and then again for each of its sub-directories) it would say the path was invalid. Something I'm missing here? Just glad to have it all running now.
