FATAL: Module usbvision not found.

I downloaded and followed the build proceedure as detailed in
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.p....3&view=markup

make modules and make modules_install both ran fine.

modprobe usbcore
modprobe ohci-hcd
modprobe videodev

also ran ok.

but when doing
modprobe usbvision, I get

FATAL: Module usbvision not found.

I checked that usbvision.o was indeed created by make modules. Zoran/Nogatech USBVISION video is support as module in kernel configuration.

can someone give me some hints as to how to find out what is wrong? does the module exist? is it not loaed? what can I check from here on?

if you've just added a module a "depmod -ae" will rebuild the module system map, and it should load then.

I wish I got this advice a day earlier. I resorted to compiling the kernel after make modules_install to make sure the new devices got into the map.

I will test out your suggestion the next time I get a chance.
