Do CD Install, and make it boot from floppy?

So I'm in day three of a wrestling match between Windows XP and Debian. I can have one but not the other. I've gone to tutorials and done them. I've installed Linux, ran mkboot as su, then installed Windows and tried to boot off the Linux floppy and it doesn't work.

Am I missing something? Is there some way to install it and tell it straight off that you want to use a floppy as the boot manager?

what message u get when booting from the linux floppy???

u may need to go to rescue mode to get ur bootloader lilo/grub working...

Nevermind, I just decided to go with a full system as Debian. I've got a Windows laptop for me. But I'm having issues with the Sarge installation. It keeps rebooting in the middle of the configuration. If it doesn't work this next attempt I'll just go back to Woody.
