display issue of fonts with iceweasel and claws
Hello. Some fonts or lettering produces gobble-di-gook rather than a proper display in both iceweasel and claws mail reader. Usually punctuation (like ") results in this. For instance, from the site Clean Debian Etch Install, I get the following:
Code:
The ‘Choose country or region’ screen will appear, select ‘United States’ or your preferred country.
I'm assuming the above should display as,
Code:
The "Choose country or region" screen will appear, select "United States" or your preferred country.
I just tried the link myself, and get the same results as you.
I'm currently browsing with the 64bit pre-release of FF,i also tried the link with Opera.
So i don't think the problem relates to Iceweasel.
Do you get this problem on other sites?.
You forgot to mention one very, very important thing: "don't mention even with a single syllabe, that you are running Linux." The standard answer of 999 out of 1000 admins namely on perceiving Linux is: "get Windows or shut up."

I figure that when a web developer uses a word processor, and then cuts the text from this to his/her website page, then the fancy punctuation gets inserted. Surely there's a way to view this using Iceweasel on Debian, isn't there? This annoyance even appears on mozilla's website at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/developers (see Developer News box).
