"Sarge" is basically the same as "Woody" if you use 'testing' in your /etc/apt/sources.list

There is a change in the kernel, but I build my own, so I haven't followed what Sarge is going to use.

Ok, maybe I explained it poorly, but they are the same.

If you installed Woody and change your sources.list to "testing", you are effectively using Sarge
If you changed your sources.list to "unstable", you are effectively using Sid.

well, yeah, like win98 and win98 second edition are the same

of course as soon as you update what you want and remove what you dont then the distro becomes yours anyway, so whats in a name?

I'd say there similar like win98 to win2000. After all there is big leap in kernal. But redgren is right, you don't download isos and install, just update your sources.list and do a apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade. I recommend a program called synaptic, it'll make using apt easier. Get it by typing apt-get synaptic.
