Debian KDE can't install

So I just installed Debian Woody, which I upgraded to Sid, and now here's a problem. I try
Code:
apt-get install kde
, or
Code:
apt-get -f install kde
, all i get is
Quote:
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
kde: Depends: kde-core but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kde-amusements but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdeaddons but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdeadmin but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdeartwork but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdegraphics but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdemultimedia but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdenetwork but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdepim but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kdeutils but it is not going to be installed
Depends: quanta but it is not going to be installed
E: Sorry, broken packages
OK, that being said, i do
Code:
apt-get build-dep kde
Quote:
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 75 not upgraded.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.........

Most KDE programs depend on kdelibs4, I have found, and that depends on libopenexr0, which gives me
Quote:
However the following packages replace it:
libopenexr2
E: Package libopenexr0 has no installation candidate
libopenexr2 is useless BTW.

So anyone please help.

I think you might have your apt source list configured not to look for testing and unstable.

Open your /etc/apt/sources.list and see if you have an uncommented line with testing and unstable in it (or post it here). If those lines are uncommented you might need to run "apt-get update" to update your package lists. Then you should be able to apt them.

apt-get install kde-core

will install the minimal, you'll need to install other metapackages depending on what you want.

check:

KDE is currently broken in unstable (sid)... At least it was a few days ago when I checked.

It's isn't called Debian unstable without a reason a reason Try again some other day, or check freenode irc, there are plenty of debian channels there where you can find info. If you run Sid you just have to accept that sometimes packages are broken and you might encounter bad bugs. I'd suggest getting the apt-listbugs package which warns of critical bugs before you install a package.

Have you checked the /etc/apt/sources.list to see if you can actually get it?
Uhm nm. Person above who said kde was broken was right.
