Debian is a rolling release meaning it only updates?

Debian is a rolling release Os, and this means it updates rather the the user replacing the OS each year or two?

Does Linux Mint Debian Edition also update or does Mint lose that rolling feature?

No, debian has about a 2 year release cycle.

https://wiki.debian.org/DebianReleases

You can perform a full upgrade without reinstalling.

Unstable is more or less a rolling version but is really for development. Many members use unstable without problems but things can break.

LMDE has there own release cycle and you now can perform a full upgrade too but just like debian is a multi-step procedure.
