Exclamation Debian and Windows XP on A 120Gb Hard Drive?

Hi, I am extremely new to linux, but after consideration, I have decided to go for both Debian Linux (with gnome) and keep with Windows XP Home.
I know I can download debian, but I am not sure how to switch between windows and linux. I have 2 hard-drives - one a 40GB and the other a 120GB. How many partitions would I need?

Also, where can I get a manual or guide to help with the commands and programs?

IF you intend to install Debian you should start at, namely the install guide.

The short and skinny of it is install Windows first. When you get to the Debian installer prompt about the bootloader chose to include the other signatures. You can choose "view" to see the Windows prompt.

Works perfectly.

What disk is Windows on? To keep it simple without having to reinstall Windows you could just install Debian to the empty disk. Give us more information about your layout and your ideas.
