Crontab problem

Hello.

I have "* 6 * * * root perl /usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=awstats.conf -update" in my /etc/crontab and whenever it's trying to run it it's apparently run several times cause when i look in htop i can se over 80+ "perl /usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=awstats.conf -update" currently running, why is this ??

According to your crontab entry the command will run every minute at 6AM.

So its obvious why its running several times at 6 AM.

You can try this:

Quote:
0 6 * * * root perl /usr/lib/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -config=awstats.conf -update
Now it will run exactly at 6 AM only once in a day.
