Hi All,

I have Debian sarge 3.1 with a 2.6 k7 type kernel (AMD Processor) I have heard about the Con Kolivas Kernel and was thinking of trying it. Anyone got any experience of the difference it can make? I run a desktop machine which will eventually I hope have dialup internet access (can't get BB where I Live )

I'm currently running Gnome with an ATI x600 pro graphics card and and amd 3200+ proc; 512 MB memory.

I visited the Con Kolvas Patches page but don't know which I should download - my kernel is 2.6.12 k7. What should I do?

Try looking at http://ck.kolivas.org/patches/2.6/ . I'm guessing though if you aren't very kernel knowledgable it might not be a great idea to attempt to use the Con Kolivas kernel. I find that the 2.6.14 works great for me as it is, and now attempting to patch a kernel and get a con kolivas one working might be a big hassle, probably requires alot of time also. If you aren't very confident in your own skills i wouldn't recommend you to trying some custom kernel patches and such. If they're good enough they will probably end up working themselves in the main line.
