I'm starting to install compiz-fusion. I had Beryl running on this machine with emerald. When I start compiz, all the windows do not have borders (minimize, maximize buttons). They do not appear if I choose, GTK, KDE, or emerald window decorator.
The strange part, is everything works fine if fusion-icon is run as root, but not as a regular user. This make me believe that it is a permissions problem. Anyone have any ideas.
I am running a quad core intel, with a 8800GT Nvidia card, and gnome.
Well, I got it working. I'm not entirely sure how, but I believe it was that I had Beryl still installed, and after removing that, and re-installing compiz and fusion, it started to work.
Yea. Beryl uses a different version of some of the same files. So if you have one going, the other doesn't really like to work so well. Least that was my experience. Particularly with Emerald, which is used by both compiz and Beryl, and happens to be the window decorator.
