Change debconf default-value during user interaction/package-configuration?

Hi,

is there any way of changing a default-value for a certain input-field when using debconf?
Namely I'd like to prompt the user for a quota-setting during package configuration. The default value in the templates-file is 1024 (I need an integer value representing MBytes).
If a user enters something like 2G, instead of just showing up an error it would be more elegant to re-display the input field with a default value of 2048 ("did you mean...?"), hence I'd need to interactively specify the default value.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Toby
