apt-get sources.list

Hi,

I have Sarge on my box but if I check my sources.list file, the only entries there are

deb http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/Linux/debian/ testing main
deb-src http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/pub/Linux/debian/ testing main
deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org stable/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://http.us.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
deb-src http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/non-US main contrib non-free

I'll get a lot of 404 errors when even trying just a simple apt-get upgrade or installation of php4
Has anybody some other mirror I can use / insert which has almost every package available ?

apt-get update runs without problems btw....

Try these:

#Debian
deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian sarge main contrib non-free

#Debian Non-US
deb ftp://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US sarge/non-US main contrib non-free

#Debian security updates
deb ftp://security.debian.org/debian-security sarge/updates main contrib non-free

Note that they are all ftp. I don't know if that helps, but I never have a problem with them.

You might try blocking off (#) those you suspect of hanging. Some sources are un-reliable.
