after upgrade to wheezy, keyboard unrecognized

I understand that this is a udev configuration problem.
<lsub> reports Bus 005 device 002: ID 046d:c503 Logitech cordless mouse+keyboard receiver.
Bus 005 device 003: ID 046d:c52b Logitech unifying receiver

How do I get these devices recognized at bootup?

Try:
Code:
# dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration
See this for more info.

I have done all the "try this" experimenting that I want to do. It takes several hours to reload "squeeze" to a blank partition, and then dist-upgrade to "wheezy". The dpkg configure is done at initial install time; it recognizes the keyboard under squeeze. No problem there.
The Problem is not the keyboard configuration. It is recognizing the USB at bootup. After dist-upgrade to wheezy, I can bootup successfully with the fallback to squeeze. The /var/log/kern reports problems in that regard.

I read somewhere on the web that the problem could be cured by setting flags disabling automatic recognition of USB devices. That results if fixing one problem by causing another one. Since I haven't seen a whole lot of complaint, is the problem specific to the AMD distribution?

I am using an SSD for my system. I understand that fstab is not configured adequately automatically; it requires " ... discard, errors ,,,". Otherwise it suffers degradation. Since the initial system load is accomplished before I can edit the fstab file, I am loath to reload the OS from scratch any more than I have to.
