A few issues (networking and screen resolution)
I tried installing Ubuntu 7.10 on this old machine of mine but it apparently couldn't handle it without extreme slowness and crashing (I installed it twice). It runs stable on Debian 4, but I have a few issues....
The resolution looked fine on one monitor of mine, but then I moved it to a different monitor and now it's stuck on 640x480, and when I try to change it from the interface menu I don't get any other options in the drop down list for resolution. I've run much higher resolutions on that monitor, so I know it can handle it.
Ubuntu detected and apparently installed drivers for my wireless network card, but crashed whenever I tried to grab an IP from my router. This debian install hasn't detected it...so is there anything I can try to force it to work? I suppose if it comes down to it I can borrow the ethernet card from another computer if I would need to connect to the Internet to download something to get it working.
