1080i for HDTV

Ok so I have an Nvidia card that displays 1080i to my HDTV. Everything is hooked up and works fine except that the screen goes beyond the tv just a tad. My hdtv supports 1080p and my cable is a hdmi cable. What am I missing?

A good tv probably. There are plenty of HDTV's on the market that overscan. Meaning, they take the whole picture, and put it on the screen in a way that makes the picture go right out of view. Have you ever tested the tv to see if it's doing this during video as well or does it just do it during computer hookups.
