How do I disable xtdesktop?

Okay this has been driving me crazy. So far I love DamnSmallLinux. However there is just one problem: Xtdesktop. I have been trying to stop this stupid program from loading on bootup for about 2 weeks now without any luck. I have removed all the LNK files from ~/.xtdesktop and added ~/.xtdesktop to my filetool.lst file. To my annoyance ALL the link files were back when I booted up. I have tried countless other things in an attempt to get rid of this troublesome program, all without luck.

I know I can use "killall -9 xtdesk" once DSL has booted up but I shouldn't have to do that everytime I start up. Not only are these icons ugly and distracting but I never use them. I have been able to configure everything else *except* this and it's really starting to drive me crazy. So my question is how do I stop Xtdesktop from loading on bootup? Using killall or clicking "No icons" simply isn't cutting it anymore.

Thanks!

One way is to boot with the "dsl noicons" option.

Another way is to edit /home/dsl/.xinitrc, removing the "enhance" lines. /usr/bin/enhance is a script which starts xtdesk, fluxter, and a few dockapps.
I don't have DSL loaded at the moment, so it could be that xtdesk is launched directly from .xinitrc. If that's the case, remove that instead of enhance. Make sure you back up /home/dsl/.xinitrc

Xtdesktop is part of the default DSL system, and as such will install itself on every boot of a liveCD or a frugal hdinstall. What you are essentially attempting to do is overwrite a directory of icons with a directory of nothing, which doesn't work.

Thank you very much! I thought I had tried that before but I guess I hadn't. I had to remove just about everything from ~/.xinitrc except fluxbox. I also had to comment out everything in ~/.xtdeskrc. Anyway, no more icons!

I figured as much.
