enabling icewm in DSL

OK so I have DSL installed and working....enabled apt-get and used the following command to get and install icewm:

apt-get install icewm

Everything seemed to go fine. The used the following to edit the .xinitrc file to enable it:

# set mouse speed
xset m 5 2
# start xterm by default
xterm &
icewmtray &
# silently check if icewm is in your $PATH and start icewm when found
# or a red colored xterm when not found or execution of icewm fails
which icewm >/dev/null 2>&1 && exec icewm || exec xterm -bg red

I then restarted and , of course, it fails to work. I get a syntax error for the second line in the above command....xset m 5 2

Is there any way to check to see if icewm was even installed and if so can someone walk me thru editing the .xinitrc file.

Thanks
