Hi, I just tried DSL live CD yesterday on my Toshiba satellite M 70.
Problem is that I don,t know how to mount my HD and USB flash grive. What are the commands for that.
Also I have put ScanModem tool in my USB drive and I want to run it to scan for my modem but I don,t know what command I should give for that and after running that tool, how to save the result back to my USB drive.
I will be thankful if somebody can give me commands t use in Bash.
I don,t want to use my HD( but will like to just see it via DSL).
Thanks.
I'm new to this forum. But know the problem you're heading now.
Actually if you've tried the newest DSL release (2.3) try to look at low right corner of your desktop, you'll find a smallbox with text like dMIx, sda1, hda1 and unmount and mount(with green button).
At the box named sda1 or hda1 or hda5, right just below it, you'll find a text named "unmount", just klik it and the box will show "mount".
To access it, open terminal (icon in upper left corner). And access your hd partitions with command:
ls /mnt/hda1
supposed that your hd is hda1.
I hope it helps
Thanks I am able to do it and was able to run scanModem tool however it did not recognize my HD( SATA).
I have one more questions.
When i give command su in DSL, it askes me password, while I never set a password, so what does it mean?
