Hi dolreich_c, maybe someone could help if you give a bit more information, possibly:

Summary of your hardware.
Did the problem start after you made some changes to the system software or hardware?
Do you get a ping response when those high cpu use processes are not running?
What are the names of the processes that are using up the cpu time?

In reality you have only made a statement, and depending on context it might indicate perfectly normal operation.

So if we assume that you mean that it is not normal for your system, then we must also ask for more information to make any kind of guess as to why it is happening.

Please tell us a little about the hardware, CPU, RAM, etc. and the OS version, what the machine is used for (i.e. desktop, internet facing web server, etc.), and finally, what processes are responsible for the high CPU usage.
