How Do I Update From CentOS 6.5 to 6.6 When 6.7 Is The Latest Version Of CentOS 6?

There is really not much to add to the title.
I have a CentOS 6.5 system that I want to
update to 6.6; "yum update" will update me from
6.5 to 6.7, which I do not want to do. Thank
you in advance for any and all replies.

Use the 6.6 DVD/ISO as a local package repo and disable all other repos while doing the upgrade

Alas, the computer that I want to update is a cloud computer (I should have mentioned this before) and equipping this cloud computer with a virtual DVD drive and making it think that this virtual DVD drive contains a virtual DVD whose contents are specified in a .iso file is a hellishly complex and poorly-documented procedure. I was hoping there was something I could do inside /etc/yum.repos.d that would make "yum update" go to 6.6 and not to "latest".

In /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo, comment out the "mirrorlist" lines, uncomment the "baseurl" lines, and change "mirror.centos.org/centos" to "vault.centos.org". Then run "yum --releasever=6.6 update".

keep in mind that cent only supports the current
the old 6.6 repos were moved to the historical archive "the vault"
http://vault.centos.org/6.6/

you will need to point yum to use these

also keep in mind that there are NO!!!! security updates or fixes for 6.6 after July of LAST YEAR

so everything that was fixed in the last 6 months is WIDE OPEN to attack !!!

hello,
i'm just a random schmuck who happens to be the first one to ask the obvious:
why would you want to do that?
maybe there's a better solution to your actual problem?
