Centos 7 xfs lvm resize

Dears,
I have problem with /root partition size low.
Can I resize /home and give the new size to /root?

Topology is / is 50GB only.
/home is 3.8 TB.
Both are Lvm with xfs filesystem.

For example I need to enlarge / from 50GB to 200 GB. Taking the 150GB from /home partition.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

No.
XFS allows you to enlarge a filesystem (/ in your case), but not reduce a filesystem (/home in your case). A ridiculous limitation.

If you have to retrieve space from /home, you will have to backup your /home, remove the lv, create a new one and restore the data - then you can use xfs_growfs to enlarge the root. You will need to ensure fstab remains valid - especially check the UUID for /home.
