Turn screen off options

Hello All,

I have been trying to configure Bodhi to turn off the screen but it is not working. I have set the screen blanking for 1-5 minutes and it never turns it off and stays at the login screen when locked. Does anyone know how to ensure my screen will turn off? I love the way GNOME and even MATE will turn the monitor and screen blank/off when locking the machine. Thank you for your input.

can you let us know what version of bodhi you are using and what steps you have tried so far? i am assuming you went into (looking at my bodhi 5.0) Settings/Screen/Blanking and checked the box next to "Enable screen blanking", but mine has a single number minute choice (from 1 to 90) so i'm not sure what you mean when you say yours is set for 1-5 minutes

Hello and thank you for the reply. I tried to update the post afterwards but could not find it as it appears to be delayed in viewing. I think it is working now and I am using Bodhi 5.0.

I want to know how to get screen blanking to work without shutting off HDMI. I have to enable 'presentation mode' and use the 'display off' button on my laptop if I'm playing music thru HDMI, or else when the screen blanker comes on it kills my music.

Screen blanking only works when presentation mode is disabled.

madmax, i that in response to me? If so, yes of course; I use presentation mode to disable screen blanking, cuz the screen blanker kills HDMI audio too; if there is a better workaround or a solution, I'd be interested.
