Sharing wifi via lan to another computer

My P4 is connected to my home network with a usb wifi adapter.
My Athlon is connected to my P4 via a lan cable.

When the P4 sleeps, the Athlon loses its network connection, as expected.

However, when the P4 wakes up, the Athlon doesn't automatically reconnect. I can reconnect the Athlon manually by clicking on nm-applet in systray then clicking the wired connection. I get popup messages saying its disconnected, followed by one that says it's connected. [I don't have to do anything on the Pentium.]

I want the Athlon to automatically reconnect itself (without me clicking on the connection). Is this possible?

Since the Athlon has a cable connection, you may want to take a look as to whether it has a "wake on LAN" setting in its BIOS.

I always thought that bios setting was related to waking up the pc from sleep/hibernation or something. The case I'm talking about the athlon is always awake (in fact hibernation/suspend doesn't work on it, that's another unrelated issue....).

But I'll play with that setting right now just in case.
