Community is the basis of the success of all open source software and all linux Distros. Bodhi has been fortunate that
an accomplished Dutch translator took an interest in Bodhi recently. The work he recently did in updating our Dutch translations has reminded me that one of my goals is to improve Moksha and Bodhi's support for as many languages as reasonably possibly.
Bodhi linux has been downloaded by users in
182 different countries. Since Moksha is an e17 fork we 'inherited' e17's support for around 40 different languages. For many languages this support never was 100% and things may or may not be well translated. As Moksha has deviated some from the pure e17 code, some new words and phrases may now be completely untranslated or a 'fuzzy' translation has been generated. 'Fuzzy' translations are known to usually be inaccurate.
So I am asking for community help in this project. Any multilingual users who are willing and able to update a translation in one or more languages, please post here or contact Stefan or I via email or Discord. The work is not hard to do and it will benefit Bodhi greatly.
Moksha currently has fully or nearly fully support for:
- English
- Spanish
- French
- Dutch
- Slovakian
Our installer currently only supports:
- English
- Spanish
- French
- Dutch
- Slovakian
- Hebrew
So if you are bilingual and use Bodhi or just want to contribute to an Open Source project step up and help.
Thanks
