Hi Stefan.

I think many would say that Windows 7 was Microsoft's best ever version of Windows; it looked good, and everything worked. Then they went to change it with Windows 8 which was a shambles, and I don't think 10 is any better. I'm a Mac user myself, but I don't like Apple's direction of travel with their hardware, which is overpriced and difficult to upgrade and repair. I installed Manjaro on my wife's 2008 MacBook and it's given it a new lease of life.

I installed Bodhi for a friend, since he had an old laptop that was doing nothing. Bodhi has transformed it into a useful device again, but I'll have to give it back to him in a few weeks. I used LibreOffice Writer to check out the app themes, and I found that Raleigh works nicely with Seven, without producing the effect of white menus on a white background! I also found that some of the app themes had a bad effect on LibreOffice forms, particular the one reached by Tools > Options. Can I suggest you check your new theme against this?

There was also a problem with the CPU usage gadget with most themes. The text simply isn't large enough and again sometimes it vanished against a white background. I think maybe a dial or block that increases in size and changes colour from blue through green and then red.

I've decided I'm going to install Bodhi on my MacBook using Virtual Box so I can continue to play with it. I've recently uninstalled all my Android development stuff which has released 80 gigs that I can better use on something else.

Cheers

Bob

Hello Bob

Thank you very much for the feedback. I appreciate it.

CPU module. Hmm, I am not sure we share the same info here. This is a png file which goes with Seven theme:

I don't see any bright gadget background. Can you post the screenshot of your desktop please to know what's going on? Thx. If issue with text is related to different themes, tell me please. I can change the text color.

Anyway, I will not making deb package as I see you can test it and provide some feedback. We can remove all visible glitches together and then provide the deb for other users. Are you able to refresh the Seven repo with git pull command and copy the Windows Vista to /usr/share/themes and try it for me?

Stefan

EDIT: Oh, Raleigh theme. Hmm. Just tested on Geany editor (Sorry I use WPS office instead of Libre) and there is also not the textbox outline which I consider to be annoying.
I've prepared a theme comparison here. Win7 vs Raleigh vs Win Vista

Hi Stefan.

I'm happy to help as best I can, but I don't suppose anyone else would want to see this thread clogged up by our conversations.

Please can you send me through the LQ forum a private message or email. I you can include your email address then we can continue chatting by email.

I've installed 32-bit Bodhi via Virtual Box on my MacBook and I'm not working to get it as close as possible to the version on my friend's laptop. That should be more convenient to work with.

BTW, you have to install the CPU usage module/gadget through Bodhi AppCenter. It's in the section called Moksha Modules, which it shares with Penguins!

Cheers

Bob
