Up until the launch of Debian 6.0 I had been a Ubuntu fan.. but as time has gone by there has been less and less for me to figure out in it. Whilst needing a Linux that does everything the family wants from the machines, I also need something to cut my teeth and sharpen my brain on (as limited as my brain is lol). So when Debian Squeeze came out I gave it a bash.
It installed without any issues, just needed the multimedia codecs, and of course the nvidia driver loaded. I have found the packages on it to be reliable, but esp when it cmes to web browsing, out of dte, and chromium dos not support all web sites.
So next project is to load up one of the sources lists from here, and see if I can create a mix between stable base software, and newer maybe less stable software such as LibrOffice and Firefox..
