Long Boot Up time

Posted 04-05-2012 at 01:25 AM by ssher

When I boot my computer up, it gets stuck for about a minute, and sometimes even longer. It shows lines like: DHCPDISCOVER on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 5. and stays like that for a while before it eventually progresses and then gets stuck on another line which reads: No DHCPOFFERS received. No working leases in persitent Database - sleeping. After this screen it finally loads the login screen. One of the reasons I switched to linux was low boot up time but it's not seeming to be the case, do I have some setup problems that are causing this?
