Is Gnash Finally Useful?

I installed Debian Sid the other day and got things set up the way I like it, mostly. Mostly because lately I am slow to install proprietary software until I need it. I like to see how long I can go on open source software before it becomes necessary to install something like flash.
After the install I go to YouTube and click on a video. It starts playing, and play really well. I then realize I have not yet installed flash. I right click on the video to see if it is using html5. No, it is playing with Gnash.
I have never had Gnash work on par with Flash on YouTube before. Usually it complains and won't play. Or on the rare occassion that it does play it dos not work well enough to actually work.
I am must say I am impressed and want to give a kudos to Gnash.
