Posted 03-06-2013 at 06:01 AM by nigelc

If you use salix, you have can no butterfingers. Bad passwords are no-excuse.
It does have very good security.
It is just as easy to use as as mageia. etc

Xfce 4.10 and Mageia 2

Posted 12-04-2012 at 04:36 AM by nigelc

I used to like the gnome desktop, but not after gnome 3
Xfce seemed to be what gnome used to be, however it had bugs:
segfault on several programs. Desktops disappearing etc.
A few days ago some updates for xfce arrived and now it's purrfect.
On the bottom taskbar it has a blue flashing thing to show which task running.
The right mouse button works better.
It now 2 logins the gnome & the xfce.
how I remove the gnome login?

Fixing windoze Computers

Posted 08-02-2008 at 02:19 AM by nigelc

Be careful if you fix someone's windows computer because it will take AGES.
They probably won't know the passwords for the email & it will be full of spyware and more spyware.
And there will be lots of other faults like have stupid software that they don't know what it does.
etc etc.
I used to like it when you could just go format c:
