I have released a new version of CruxEX today. This version has VirtualBox Guest Additions pre-installed, which means (among other things) that you can run CruxEX in VirtualBox in full screen. Read about how to install and run CruxEX from a USB stick in VirtualBox. Watch a screenshot when CruxEX is running in VirtualBox in full screen. (Using VirtualBox Guest Additions).

Updated 02-03-2021 at 09:21 AM by exton (MORE INFO)

EXTON OpSuS Tumbleweed is based on openSUSE Tumbleweed, which is a rolling distribution. I.e. no need for new installations. Just run the command zypper dup and you will always get the latest stable packages/kernels. The ISO file is only of 657 MB so you will run the system very fast from a CD or a USB stick. Even in VirtualBox/VMware directly from the ISO file.

Run EXTON OpSuS with PERSISTENCE from a USB stick! You can install new programs and/or change the whole system to you liking....

Most of them doesn’t offer persistence though. Very little is written about the fact that the “ordinary” installation program for installations to hard drive (in some cases) also can be used to install a Linux system to a USB stick. Run Android-x86 from a USB stick with persistence!

Posted 04-16-2015 at 03:40 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)
Updated 04-16-2015 at 05:53 AM by exton (More info)

Yesterday I discovered that "my" Android-x86 systems can be installed to a USB stick with persistence. I.e. all system changes are saved directly on the stick.

What is it good for?
Well, you dont have to touch your hard drive. Installing Android-x86 this way wont effect your ordinary boot loader. And as I say above: All system changes are persistent!
