Smile x-server


Hi guy's

Im running Arch Linux 0.6 with Kernel 2.6.8-1. Everything runns smooth and gentle with the 2.6.8 kernel BUT, when i install KDE 3.2.0-1 it say's libXineramax.1.so is missing?? where do i get it?? can't find a singel pakage nor any tarball containing this library. Any body know's where to find or how to fix this?? Thanx in advance //Andreas

I suggest updateing to the 0.7 release its alot better even though it says beta its stable and you can get reiser 4 on that

I don't see how you could installl kde 3.2.0 or keep your release back at 0.6, did you modify your pacman sources? I think the older stuff drops off as the release proceeds, so you should be at 0.7 now with kde 3.3.0, if you have kept up to date with pacman. The new kernel must have come from 'current' unless you did it yourself.

You could look to see where your kde-3.2.0 is comming from and then look there with a browser. This will only be fruitful if the package is there but somehow did not make it into the db list. The pacman location is in /etc/pacman.conf or /etc/pacman.d/... depending upon your version.

Thanks guy's, well.. the 2.6.8 kernel is "home made" yes.. and i don't want to run kde la.te.st version or anything else in the latest version due to the machine being a fileserver on a vastly growing network (online) . but i'll think i'll give the 0.7 a try. Friendly Regards //Andreas

pacman -S xorg that will fix your kde problem
