Systemd v Initscripts

Hi everyone,

I know the arch community is currently in the process of switching from initscripts to systemd. The latest Arch News post highlights the end of initscripts support in January 2013.

I was wondering if I install using the latest media (2012.11.01) - does this come with systemd established or would I need to do a lot of configuring changes quite soon if I install arch in this period of flux?

I think that systemd is now the default and I would not need to do any more changes in the short term based on this news post:

https://www.archlinux.org/news/syste...installations/

Thank you.

If I'm not mistaken, Mageia switched from initscripts in Mga1 to systemd in Mga2. I did continues upgrades and didn't noticed any issues by the switch.

YMMV, using Arch and since I don't use it, I can't say how it may turn out during updates/upgrades.

On Arch, initscripts are dead, and it's all systemd. The old scripts are going away after the start of 2013.

Arch has an excellent wiki for systemd:

...have fun.
