MX Tools - Live USB Kernel Updater - Not within Menu Editor ???

Hi everyone,

One of the most recent MX Linux, more specifically MX Tools Updates, included the Live USB Creator Kernel Updater.

As I do with most of my own live snapshots, I went to the MX Menu Editor in the MX Tools section in order to correct a grammatical error (German language) and in order to set the title to something a bit shorter. However, this "Live USB Kernel Updater" is nowhere to be found within the MX Tools / Menu Editor. I checked all of the available categories and it's not there. When I try to edit the launcher manually from within the XFCE menu with all of the categories, the changes don't stick. You can click on save and it saves the adjustments, but after logging out as well as rebooting or powering down then on again, it's just like it was before.
This is really frustrating to me because it totally throws my launcher formats within their menus totally out of whack. Very unattractive when compared to the rest.
Any thoughts on being able to make adjustments that actually stick for real? Even blending the launcher out didn't work. Saved the changes but it's still there.

Can't save changes running live. Reason rebooting or logging out erases everything.

Not sure if you watched this already

I don't understand your answer.
It's a finished completed system, running normally and not on a live usb. I've been editing the main menu for years without any problems ... until now. That particular very new icon within MX Tools won't let me edit it. That's the purpose of the main menu (amongst other things) to enable editing (and saving) functions within the menu and its corresponding categories.

The ISO snapshot was from a week ago and the checksum was fine. I know for a fact that this new "live usb kernel updater" was not part of the system at that time. It only showed up during the past few days. Today was the first time that I noticed it and I think I would have noticed the new tool/function if it had been more than 3 or 4 days ago since I work within the category apps and the main menu fairly frequently.

The aforementioned issue is not included there. Thanks anyway.

Well I found it within the MX Package Manager ... deleted it from there ... but after a reboot the only thing that had changed was the fact that the symbol for it vanished. The application description is still there, it still can't be found in the menu editor, and you still can't blend the item out either. Clicking on it does what it's supposed to do, so "removing it" really only removed the symbol. Geez, I hate that when people do sloppy work. Now I'm stuck with the thing and can't do anything about it.
Not done trying though ....
