View Poll Results: Server Distribution of the Year
Can Mandriva Enterprise Server be added? I am really curious to know if any members are forking out the $400+, and how it compares to the rest. I am presuming perhaps that some European companies might be using this server software.
Thanks
i am going to be crazy and lazy as i found 1000+ flavors of linux distribution. whenever discussion start some say use debian base distro and some say redhat still best.
the worst issue with huge application like oracle still does not certify yet any of debian realease.
however debian is highly stable, durable. i use ubuntu due to easy use. debian i feel lot of questions. similary people refer for security terms debian and slackware are the top most.
i heard some people use debian/slackware use as firewall, gateway, routers
I converted 2 major clients to RHEL in 2009 (one from Windows, one from AIX), and despite being more of a BSD/Debian fan I find that RHEL is what I'm always asked about professionally.
Great wins for them, especially on the Xen front (I actually had a client ask MS in a sales meeting if 'Hypervisor was something like Xen' - rofl)
if you understand the objective, try to understand the base question. Oracle does not support debian and slackware based what to do next? any reason. is slackware and debian not stable, not worth good to use oracle server or database?
