What is the difference between "make deinstall clean" and "pkg_delete"?

Are they the same? Or is the former method more thorough?

make deinstall = pkg_delete
make clean also cleans work dirs of dependencies and port

man ports
man build
man pkg_delete

As said above, read the handbook and man pages and then have a look at this 3 or 4 page thread from the fine folks over at bsd forums.

Everyones preference differs and mine is ports, and I honestly can say I have never had any issues with it.
