freebsd questions

I'm interested in giving freebsd a try, but first i have some questions. I have a radeon 9200, the drivers are only available for linux, windows and mac. Will the 'linux compatibility layer' i've read about allow me to use the linux drivers (i imagine not as the kernel is totally different)??? Would i be forced to use xfree dri? (it doesn't seem to have much development going into it). Also, because of the linux compatibility layer, would i be able to run linux games (like tux racer, or even et)?? Any clarification would really help me in my decision whether or not to try freebsd.

THanks!

I have a Radeon 9000. I'm using DRI without any problem. Sysinstall seems to screw it up but a restart seems to solve that issue. I think the Radeon 9200 is supported by the DRI drivers so you probably should give them a try first.
