Can Virtual Machine do USB?

Hi I am running OpenBSD 4.3.

Are there any Virtual Machine on OpenBSD 4.3 that makes USB devices available for the guest OS? I am just trying to see if I can get some hardware to work with a Guest OS running Windows, which uses USB.

hi

I do not run BSD but am aware it has a linux compat layer. so in theory you can run the non-ose virtualbox that enables an emulated bios that emulates usb 2....but your host computer needs at least a working usb 1.1

The Linux layer is only available on i386 platforms, but I am running AMD64, so I can't actually run Linux binaries.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway, maybe they'll make a port for OpenBSD AMD64 someday.

As more applications are ported to OpenBSD, the need for providing Linux emulation lessens.

Not that I am in a pivotal position within the OpenBSD project (I'm not...), but from reading the message traffic on the misc@ mailing list, I would not expect that the maintaining the emulation layer is deemed a critical priority.

Well, it could work the other way as well, like Virtual Box themselves porting Virtual Box to OpenBSD... that's what I was trying to say anyway.
