seedbox using rtorrent with FreeBSD or OpenBSD ??

Greetings to all,

A quick question to Gurus and guys with more experience than me.
Would it be wiser and/or technically better to run a seedbox using rtorrent with OpenBSD or FreeBSD ?

I don't think there will be a great difference, but for a box dedicated to a single task OpenBSD may be more quick to deploy and give a cleaner end result.

On the other hand, FreeBSD gives longer support to their releases, so if you wanna avoid upgrading so often...

I think you cannot go wrong whatever you choose.

That's a pretty open ended question, what are your metric of comparison?
  • Security
  • Network Performance
  • Stability?
