Unhappy OpenVPN Starting Problem...

Hello,

I downloaded openvpn 2.0.5 packages from freebsd.org and installed it by typing: pkg_add openvpn-2.0.5.tbz - No problem until I try to start openvpn... I get this error message:

Quote:
/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/libcrypto.so.4: Undefined symbol "__isthreaded"
I did some research on google about it but I did not find anything relevant.. any ideas?

have you tried the openvpn port?

this will most likely sort any dependancy problems,

apparently this is an issue with the configure script

Yes I have - I am able to install it (openvpn 1.6) but it is an older version and I think it cannot or have some problem with it when it comes to redirect all my internet activity through the VPN (redirect-gateway option)..

Do you think my issue can be solve at all or I would have to upgrade my OS or something like that ?

what version of FreeBSD are you using?

2.0.5 is in /usr/ports/security/openvpn in freeBSD 6.0

it would definatly be worth upgrading your ports tree, have you done a cvsup before?

http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO...rts-using.html

here is some usefull info on upgrading your ports collection, this will mean you don't have to upgrade your whole system

it's always a good idea to upgrade your ports once in a while

FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE - I've downloaded the packages from ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/packages/security

I didnt notice it was for FreeBSD6.0... no I haven't done any cvsup yet - I think I upgraded my ports before using the sysinstall utility

I try to update my ports but it did not help so I try to install from the port I currently have and it worked. It's an older version but if I get it to do what I want I'll be happy.

If any of you guys have some experience in OpenVPN please let me know!
