I recently installed FreeBSD 5.3 and upon installation selected "All" when prompted for what to install, I also selected the Ports tree..
And to my suprise.. It never asked for disc 2... So my question is.. what's on it? I look on it but i can't really make out what I would use the second disc for... anyone know?
LiveFS is good for recovering a borked-out system. Boot from disc 1, and in sysinstall select Fixit and select to run from the CD. You put CD 2 in and it brings up a shell and mounts the filesystem on your disk. I've used it a couple of times, rescuing systems from buildworlds/kernel builds that bugged out.
