Firefox on FreeBSD 4.9?

hi -

Im using FreeBSD 4.9 and I was wondering if Firefox will work on Unix Operating sytems???

The reason Im asking, because I went to the Firefox download page and it does not list the FreeBSD operating system to download on. How come???

So basically, will Firefox work on any UNIX systems including Solaris???

A lot of software is "ported" to the BSD's. Plus using the ports system is the way to go. You will take care of dependencies, keeping software current, and when you uninstall it knows where all the files are.

So to confirm, Firefox will work with FreeBSD and Solaris, right?

If its in the ports, yes.

To find a port (one way):
cd /usr/ports
make search name=firefox

will list all ports with that name.

If its not in the ports, I know FreeBSD has linux binary support so you can run Linux versions if you have it enabled. The other BSD's not sure.

Solaris I am not sure, never ran it.
