Dual boot with Slackware and FreeBSD

Hello. I have a PC with Slackware loaded and I want to try FreeBSD. I considered adding a second hard drive (slave) and loading the FreeBSD there.

Could I just add another partition and mount it on the second hard drive? Is the FreeBSD bootable using LILO from Slackware?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes and yes. Your FreeBSD entry in lilo.conf will look something like the following:

Code:
other=/dev/hdd3
  table=/dev/hdd
  label=FreeBSD

Nylex, I did what you showed, and the dual-boot works great.

Instead of adding a second hard drive, I created two partitions on /dev/hda...one for swap and one for Linux /. The rest of the drive I left for FreeBSD to auto-partition as it loaded.

Thanks for your help!
