[OpenBSD 4.1] run locate.updatedb after login

I log in via xdm as a normal user and want to run /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb only once in the background each time I log in. Is there any way to do this?

I tried to put it in /etc/rc.local - but it's painfully slow every time I boot the system.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You'd definitely be better off putting that in cron... is there any compelling reason that you can't?
