Question Boot directly into Zorin on a USB Flash Drive?

First of all, I am a total noob concerning anything Linux related, so please excuse my ignorance. I did search for an answer on my own with no luck. I managed to install Zorin 9 on a USB flash drive. It boots perfectly to the USB drive, but on booting you get a list of options.

Ubuntu

Installer boot menu

Try Zorin OS without installing
Install Zorin OS
Test memory
Boot from first hard disk
Advanced options
Help

Press ENTER to boot or TAB to edit a menu entry

I want it to ALWAYS boot directly in the Live Zorin OS on the USB drive. As I mentioned I am a newbie and the "Install Zorin OS" is an option that I would rather not have.

Is it possible to boot DIRECTLY to the Live OS on the stick with no boot option menu at all?

And if the Option menu cannot be bpassed entirely can the "Install Zorin OS" be removed?

Again sorry if this is a stupid question and thanks to anyone who can help me. Please keep your answer as easy to follow as possible. lol

If you let it time out and boot, it will boot to the Live Zorin.

Wait for the timeout and it will boot to that. No boot options, no. You would have to completely modify and re-create the system which I doubt you know how to do.

No, not unless you loop mount, copy it to a specific partition, re-create the entire iso which I doubt you know how to do.
The iso you are booting from is a read-only filesystem and cannot be modified and saved on reboot.

Thumbs up

Thanks.

As I mentioned I am very new to Linux and therefore I really appreciate your advice. Too many forums today bash Newbies.

Hopefully I can learn enough that one day I will find a way to create a bootable USB Flash drive that just boots with no questions asked. Until then I'll be doing a lot of reading and experimenting with Linux.

Thanks again Yancek!

You can do an actual full install to a flash drive and then it would be a simple matter of making those changes. Obviously, you would need a larger flash drive, probably 8GB minimum. No sure if that's what you want.
